Ukraine has lost third of insurance brokers |

In the Ukrainian market of insurance the quantity of insurance brokers is promptly reduced. According to the State commission on regulation of the markets of financial services for last one and a half year their number was reduced to third. If 2007 of brokers was 87 for today remains only 57. «To the termination of last year in the register of Gosfinuslug there were 64 brokers, and within 2009 their quantity continues to decrease», - the general director of Federation of insurance intermediaries of Ukraine Sergey Inshakov ascertains. Principal cause of so considerable reduction of quantity of brokers – reduction of volumes of the insurance market. So the sum of insurance awards collected by insurers has decreased from the beginning of year by expert estimations on 40 % that has led to proportional decrease in commission gathering of brokers. Such reduction of incomes has forced many intermediaries to leave this market. «And at us, for last two years because of the termination of the activity in two the quantity of members of trade union» was reduced, - the chairman of Vseukrainsky trade union of insurance brokers Vasily Darkov is distressed. The market will lose in quality Leaving of intermediaries into which problem enters to represent interests of clients before the insurance companies, according to the majority of experts, will lead to situation deterioration in the insurance market and will negatively be reflected in quality of insurance services. «They offer the clients the professional help in conclusion of insurance contracts and settlement of losses», - the general director of association «Insurance Business» Lyudmila Biloshitskaja ascertains. However, in its opinion, mainly legal bodies as they were major customers of brokers will suffer from leaving of brokers, having possibility to pay service at a rate of 15-20 % from insurance payment. However, according to Vasily Darkova, private persons will suffer also. «During crisis for the help to intermediaries in settlement of insurance events addresses more clients, both legal, and physical persons», - he speaks. Brokers leave in agents One more reason of gradual disappearance of insurance brokers in Ukraine is their discrimination position in comparison with other intermediaries of the insurance market. That the legislation establishes exclusiveness in activity of insurance brokers, they are very limited in the possibilities. Thus they are very rigidly regulated by the Commission. Whereas insurance agents have possibility to render the almost same services, as brokers, and thus are not registered and «Gosfinuslug» are not regulated. «This situation also is the main reason of leaving of brokers from the market, - tells Vasily Darkov, - Many of them become the agents which activity is supervised only by insurers». According to Lyudmila Biloshitsky, during crisis time agents, unlike brokers, from the market do not leave. Moreover, because of heightened interest to their services of insurers, agents from the beginning of year have raised the commission fee, on the average, on 10 %. «Delo» |
