Ukraine obtained IMF credit

Ukraine has obtained the second loan tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Appropriation of funds was approved by IMF board of directors last week, Focus reports with reference to Reuters.

The second loan tranche amounts to 1,875 bn of special drawing rights corresponding to US $2,625. The funds have been have gone on account of the Treasury and the National Bank of Ukraine.

According to the Finance Ministry head Ihor Umansky, US $1 bn of special drawing rights (around US $1,5 bn) will get into the National budget and guarantee Ukraine’s payments for external loans. The National bank will use the rest of the funds for appropriation of gold holdings.
